Instructional Coach - TOSA

HFM BOCES has an immediate opening for a full-time Instructional Coach (TOSA) (1.0 FTE) who will be responsible for working with districts in a variety of roles. The successful candidates will possess strong interpersonal skills, classroom teaching experience and the ability to facilitate professional development.

Expected duties:

• Serve in the development and support the implementation of instructional plans that align to NYS standards, district goals and curricula
• Work with teachers and administrators to analyze student data, diagnose instructional needs and identify research-based instructional strategies to close achievement gaps.
• Provide individual and/or group instructional coaching and mentoring to teachers to improve classroom instruction for all learners
• Manage and distribute instructional resources to teachers and provide training on the use of those resources
• Encourage and support the implementation of technology and innovative strategies in the classroom
• Extensive understanding of NYS learning standards
• Extensive understanding of various instruction strategies

• Salary commensurate with experience.
  

Qualifications/Experience

• Must hold a valid NYS Teaching Certificate
• Classroom teaching experience (5 years preferred)
• Experience in development, preparation and presentation of professional development (preferred); training will be provided
• Experience / Ability to utilize data to guide and support instructional strategies to close performance gaps (preferred); training will be provided

TEACH Clearance

Per Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, to be employed in a position designated by a school district or BOCES as involving direct contact with students, a clearance for employment from the State Education Department is required. Formal job offer/selection is contingent on ability to obtain a fingerprint security clearance through the TEACH system prior to working.
