DEFINITION: Under general supervision, answers incoming calls, maintains the accuracy and completeness of legal records and information using NCIC, and performs related duties as assigned for Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

Tasks
TASKS: Answers incoming calls, transfers reports from Vision Paperless into VisionRMS, checks transferred reports for TIBRS errors, checks and enters Arrest Reports into VisionRMS, assists the public via telephone and personal contact, handles request from assorted companies for accident reports, maintains billing for assorted companies, handles request for background checks, handles all background checks for handgun permits from the State of TN, enters written reports and citations into VisionRMS, validate reports for TIBRS, operates e-Agent for access to the National Crime Information Computer, enters data on "hot files" missing persons, stolen vehicles, stolen firearms, etc., enters data on Orders of Protection as issued by Courts, enters data on Wanted Persons, checks entered data to data in VisionRMS, clears/removes data from NCIC as warranted, assist Deputies using information from NCIC and TIES for non-emergency use, validates records entered into NCIC, verifies entries when a "hit" request has been received, enters Bond Conditions on released parties as received from the Jail, enters information into the VGTOF as received from the Jail, maintains Criminal History Log, provides support for Deputies, redacts all reports before release.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or GED, two (2) years public contact and office work experience, and keyboarding ability, including the ability to type at the net speed of 35 wpm (typing test will be administered).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This classification involves work in a standard office environment with little risk. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office promotes a drug/alcohol free work environment through the use of pre-employment and random drug testing.
