The Associate Director of Advancement Promotion Strategy manages the operational execution of Advancement communications and outreach from audience segmentation and data selection through final fulfillment. This role ensures that marketing and solicitation efforts are efficiently executed, data-driven, and strategically targeted to support engagement, fundraising, and stewardship goals, in close collaboration with colleagues across Advancement.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as project manager for Advancement mass communication efforts, overseeing timelines, workflows, and internal review processes to ensure timely execution of marketing programs. Maintain project documentation and update marketing initiatives in Asana.
- Develop and implement audience segmentation, data selection, extraction, and quality control processes to ensure accurate targeting for multi-channel communications, including direct mail, email, and text outreach.
- Build and manage campaigns within Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Ascend, ensuring data integrity, accurate tracking, and timely reporting. Conduct post-campaign analysis to document outcomes, including donor engagement, giving, and other relevant metrics.
- Coordinate production and distribution of marketing materials, including hard copy mailings and stewardship reports, in partnership with internal teams and external vendors such as mail houses and/or print shops.
- Maintain the Advancement marketing calendar to ensure campaigns and communications are scheduled and coordinated across teams.
- Support execution of mass solicitation and targeted content strategies, as well as giving initiatives such as Chapel Bell (i.e. recurring donation program), Give To What You Love (i.e. give days), and athletics solicitations. Contribute to prospect pool management and tracking.
- Partner with colleagues across Advancement to streamline workflows, improve operational efficiency, and support data-informed decision making.
- Develop and maintain documentation for communication workflows, segmentation logic, and campaign processes to ensure consistency and operational efficiency.
- Manage administrative processes related to campaign execution, including requesting purchase orders and submitting invoices.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience in operations, marketing, communications, or data management preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and high-volume projects with competing deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
- Analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret data and apply insights to support communication strategies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and build productive relationships with colleagues and constituents.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Salesforce CRM (including Lightning, Marketing Cloud, Sales Cloud) and Mogli; experience with Workday, Asana, and other advancement platforms is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, functions (VLOOKUP, data validation), and reporting.
Compensation Range:
$65,000 - $70,000
