We’re partnering with a leading Tier-1 Telecom provider in Richardson, TX seeking a hands-on Optical Networking Systems Tester to support lab and field optical validation. This is an exciting 12-month contract role offering the chance to work with multiple OEM platforms (Ciena, Cisco, Nokia, Fujitsu, Infinera) and gain deep exposure to DWDM and long-haul systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform optical performance and system-level testing in a lab environment.
- Validate DWDM/ROADM systems across Metro and Long-Haul networks.
- Operate and test multiple vendor platforms (Cisco, Nokia, Ciena, Fujitsu, Infinera).
- Execute alarm and system verification, mixing pluggable optics across OEMs.
- Document issues, test results, and resolutions for OEM escalation.
Required Skills
- 3 years of hands-on optical or telecom lab experience.
- Strong understanding of DWDM/SONET, optical power, and transceiver testing.
- Familiarity with Metro and Long-Haul optical systems.
- Experience with Cisco, Ciena, Nokia, Fujitsu, or Infinera equipment.
- Experience using optical test tools (OTDR, OSA, BERT, EXFO).
