Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Field Service Technician with experience in installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining CNC machinery and automation systems. The candidate would be proficient in electrical and mechanical diagnostics, including PLCs, drives, hydraulics, pneumatics, and other machine tool mechanical systems. They would be experienced with machine retrofits, preventative maintenance, blueprint and schematic interpretation, customer support. The position would require travel locally with potential nationwide travel for on-site service and installations.
Duties
- Travel over the road to customer sites throughout the region and nationwide as required to support machine installations, repairs, troubleshooting, service work and maintain CNC machinery and automation systems.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting including wiring, controls, sensors, relays, drives, motors, and PLC-related systems.
- Conduct mechanical repairs and rebuilds including bearings, ball screws, way systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and spindle components.
- Assist with in-house machine retrofits, rebuilds, and automation integration projects.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Install, test, and calibrate machine components and systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and machine inspections.
- Operate machine tools and fabrication equipment as needed for retrofit and repair work.
- Provide technical support and training to customers when necessary.
- Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards and customer site requirements.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in industrial maintenance of machine tools and related systems.
- familiar with operating machine tools, welding operations and reverse engineering/ sketching parts.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical systems (low voltage/high voltage), schematics, and control wiring.
- Experience with hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Excellent analysis skills for troubleshooting complex electrical and mechanical issues efficiently.
- Field service experience with the ability to travel as needed.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication.
- Ability to work safely around high voltage equipment while adhering to all safety protocols; experience operating lifts like scissor lifts is preferred.
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
