Are you passionate about cooking and ready to share your skills with others? We are looking for a dedicated weekend cook to join our team at our Elderly complex!
Position: Weekend Cook
Hours: Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 AM - 1:30 PM
Location: Congregate, 33 Woodruff Street. Hamden, CT 06518
Responsibilities:
· Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch and dinner.
· Maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
· Follow safety and sanitation procedures.
· Ensure food is prepared and served to the highest quality standards.
· Monitor Kitchen appliances such as; Stove, ovens, refrigerator, dishwasher and freezers to assure that all appliances are in good standard working order.
· Communicate with the Head Chef as needed regarding food preparation, supplies, and kitchen operations.
· Demonstrate effective time management to ensure meals are prepared and served on schedule.
Requirements:
· Prior cooking experience required; experience in an Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing Facility preferred.
· Ability to follow established weekend menus and prepare weekend meals as needed.
· Strong attention to detail, including food quality and presentation.
· Excellent interpersonal skills.
· Strong verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team with a positive attitude.
· ServSafe Certification preferred; must be obtained while on the job if not currently certified.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.84 per hour
