Job Summary
- Ideal Market Prep Cooks are responsible for preparing clean, consistent food products for the deli and grab and go case as per Ideal Market’s recipes and standards, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area, washing dishes, and providing excellent customer service to customers, co-workers and vendors.
Primary Responsibilities
- Exceed our customers’ evolving expectations by preparing the freshest quality product while providing excellent customer service and a pleasant shopping experience
- Build relationships with and educate our customers in order to create sales
- Follow instructions for proper recipe creation
- Receive, prepare, weigh, finish, slice, price, package, merchandise, provide customer service, and stock product as needed
- Operate, clean, and maintain equipment/machinery, tools, and workstations
- Ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met
- Answer the phone, take orders, and redirect calls to appropriate departments
- Performs various kitchen functions as directed
Requirements Qualifications
- Previous perishable foods handling and/or preparation experience preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational and multitasking skills
- Able to deal with complaints and give accurate information
- A customer-oriented approach is essential
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to work a flexible schedule in accordance with the needs of the store
Preferred Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Bilingual Spanish/English
