Boston Valley and Union Pleasant Elementary Schools are seeking compassionate and dependable Personal Aides to support individual students in an elementary school setting. A Personal Aide works closely with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to assist a student in accessing the curriculum, developing independence, and participating safely and successfully in school activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one support to an assigned student(s) throughout the school day
Assist the student(s) with academic tasks under the direction of the classroom teacher
Support social, emotional, and behavioral development using positive reinforcement strategies
Help the student(s) follow daily routines, schedules, and classroom expectations
Provide support during lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and special-area classes
Assist with personal care needs (e.g., toileting, hygiene, mobility), if required
Implement accommodations and modifications as outlined in the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)
Collect data and observe student progress, reporting concerns to appropriate staff
Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and information
Support a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
