Skills/Abilities
Responsible for landscaping, general maintenance, minor fixes, painting. Ability to work independently, prioritize keeping all locations well-groomed in all aspects. Expected to work on-call hours to include early morning, night and/or weekend work.
Essential Functions
- Maintains a safe and orderly working environment consistent with OSHA and HKH standards.
- Demonstrate positive interpersonal relations in dealing with physicians, patients, patient families, visitors and co-workers in a professional and confidential manner.
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality and to protect personal health information.
- Embraces and projects the values of HKH: respect, consistency, fairness, personal accountability and integrity.
- Minor fixes to include windows, doors, air conditioning, installation of mechanical equipment. Must be able to use a ladder and general hand tools.
- Landscaping to include mowing the lawn, cutting brush, clearing any debris.
- Must be able to be reached during all hours for any emergency needs.
- Must have reliable transportation, and eagerness to travel between locations as necessary.
- Responsible to activate the security alarm system when exiting the Health Center during closed hours.
- All other duties assigned.
Job Specifications
- High school diploma
- Experience in the health care industry preferred
- In-house training on Relias and online CleanCheck Training System, including OSHA infection control requirements.
Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of usage of chemical cleaners. On-line and in-house training is provided.
- Landscaping equipment,
- Ability to effectively relate to co-workers and patients.
- Good written and oral communication skills. Basic computer skills, e-mail, web access.
- Maintenance experience
- Multi-tasking.
The maintenance engineer is performed in a healthcare setting. While primarily responsible for the care of the property, you may come into contact with patients with contagious illnesses. This position requires walking, sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, lifting and continuously moving during working hours. Will require occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. and over 70 lbs. with assistance.
