As a Tarper and Spotter, you would be responsible for preparing loads for transport, properly securing product on flatbeds, and moving trailers throughout the yard.

Work schedule:
Day shifts (6 am to 2 pm) and Afternoon shifts (10 am to 6 pm and 12 pm to 8 pm)
Tarper and Spotter: Responsibilities & Duties
- Using available equipment (plastic, tarps, straps, edge protectors), the Tarper and Spotter will cover the flatbed loads to ensure proper protection of the load when it leaves USG property. Ensure that the edge protectors are in place and protecting the corners/edges of the load.
- Setting flatbed trailers up by laying out straps/tarps prior to the load being placed on flatbed.
- Ensuring that after covering the load all straps/tarps/plastic are secured properly and firmly to ensure the load is secure on the flatbed. Using bungee straps when directed by Load Securement Manager.
- Tarper and Spotter move trailers with a spotter truck to the assigned loading dock when instructed. Pull trailers away from loading dock with the spotter truck when instructed. Ensure that when moving trailers with the spotter truck to observe safe speeds and ensure that you are aware of all surrounding hazards or potential risks and adjusting driving patterns as needed.
- Removing snow off flatbed trailer as needed.
Tarper and Spotter: Requirements & Qualifications
- Ability to problem solve and change priorities with interruptions.
- Requires standing, moving, and physical activity for long periods of time (95%)
- When spotting, constant use of communication devices and earpiece.
- Majority of tarping duties are performed indoors, and majority of spotting duties are performed outdoors.
- Constant use of ladders and safety harness equipment.
- Safety glasses, steel toe boots, and safety harnesses required as directed.
- Experience with tarping/spotting preferred but not essential.
- Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- A valid class D license is required.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
