Logistics Coordinator

Halvor Logistics Services is seeking a highly motivated Logistics Coordinator to join their Superior, WI team! The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service, communication, and attention to detail. Join a company that's been a top fleet to drive for 13 years running!

Responsibilities:

• Initiates contact with existing, new, and potential customers to secure freight and find opportunities for freight.
• Assists in pricing current and potential opportunities
• Books freight and makes appointments.
• Ensures the information on pickups and deliveries is accurate prior to sending it on to the appropriate carrier via “rate negotiation” generated by computer.
• Follows through to ensure the loads tendered to carriers are picked up, delivered on time and carried out within the customers’ expectations. In doing so, will also interact and follow up with the carrier, their drivers, and shippers. This should be done with phone calls to the carrier representative and/or the driver on the shipment.
• Responds to web tenders and load confirmations utilizing EDI.
• Maintains on-going customer and carrier relationships.
• Maintains up-to-date awareness of the industry trends and customers and brokers business status.
• Attends staff meetings and training programs.
• Attend work consistently and punctually. Requests time off per policy.
• Ability to achieve goals set forth by management.
• Provides backup to other logistics/operations staff as needed.

Qualifications:
· Minimum of 1 year or more related experience required

· Prefer degree in Transportation/Logistics; or combination of education and experience may be used at the discretion of management

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and written

· Strong customer orientation and excellent customer service, influencing and negotiating skills

· Ability to plan, prioritize, coordinate and carry-out duties and responsibilities in an environment with constant interruptions, call volumes and changes

· Must be flexible and patient in dealing with changing situations

· Ability to problem solve

· Must be proficient with computers and relevant software applications and general office equipment

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
