The Halsted Corporation is looking for a hands-on Warehouse Foreman to help lead our daily dock and warehouse operations. In this role, you’ll be the go-to leader on the warehouse floor, guiding the team, coordinating orders, and ensuring that shipping and receiving run smoothly, accurately, and safely. What You’ll Do
- Maintain a visible presence on the warehouse floor and ensure safe, efficient dock operations throughout each shift.
- Oversee all shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
- Assign work, coordinate workflows, and provide real-time problem-solving to keep productivity on track.
- Verify inbound and outbound shipments for accuracy and condition.
- Support inventory control efforts, including cycle counts and organization of storage areas.
- Train and coach warehouse staff on safety, loading, receiving, and equipment procedures.
- Communicate status updates and operational needs to the Warehouse Operations Manager.
- Enter shipping/receiving data and assist with basic reporting in our ERP system (Syspro).
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Customer Service) to ensure orders are executed on schedule.
- Assist with process improvements and SOP development to enhance warehouse performance.
Your Qualifications
- 3–5 years of warehouse experience, including leading or supervising a team.
- Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving operations (LTL/FTL).
- Proven ability to coordinate work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Comfortable working on your feet for most of the day and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with ERP or warehouse systems (Syspro experience is a plus).
- OSHA Forklift Certification required
Work Environment
This is a primarily warehouse-based role that involves:
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting/carrying (up to 50 lbs), and operating warehouse equipment.
- Working near mechanical parts, in varying temperatures, and with moderate to loud noise levels.
- Occasional work in an office setting for data entry and coordination tasks.
