The Electrician is responsible for installation, troubleshooting and service of plant electrical equipment. This includes but is not limited to process troubleshooting, instrument / DCS calibrations, discrete motor controllers, power distribution, of all equipment from DSC / Instrument process controls to general electrical infrastructure.
The Electrician should be able to take ownership of their work and work in a self-directed manner. They should be a well-organized individual. This person must demonstrate excellent safety awareness and bring a positive energy to work each day. They should be a team player with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting and repairing production equipment, facilities, electrical systems
- Work with Engineers and Maintenance staff to install new equipment, install new lines, and redesign/set up existing production lines.
- Install, repair, calibrate, service and replace electronic devices and systems.
- Responding to emergency calls.
- Adhere to all current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) requirements.

- Improve electrical equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime.

Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma, General Educational Development (GED) or equivalent.
- Two year Electrical Technology degree preferred.
- Five years electrical construction or residential or commercial experience preferred.
- Familiarity with three phase motors and controls, instrumentation and analog controls, and PLC, DCS preferred.
- Technical training in areas of electrical, mechanical and other related fields preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail with high standards of excellence.

- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Must be able to use equipment within its design limits (weight limit on a ladder, for example).
- Must be able to climb and descend stairs and ladders.
- Must be capable of lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work from heights (including elevated platforms, scaffolds, lifts and ladders).
- Must be capable of working in adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.) with or without full acid gear.
- Must be able to work in an environment where chemical odors may exist at permissible threshold limits of exposure.
- Must be able to evacuate the plant, reporting to appropriate assigned muster point, in the event of an emergency or drill.
- Must be able to safely handle hazardous chemicals on a regular basis.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces.
- Must be able to wear a respirator or an air hood.
- Must be able to use all available or assigned personal protective equipment and tools.
- Must be able to use readily available fall protection equipment (current standard fall protection and rescue equipment is rated at 310 pounds).
