Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Back Office Medical Assistant with dermatology or healthcare experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and administrative support in a dermatology practice. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a high demand setting.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Provide direct patient care, including rooming patients, preparing patients for examinations and documenting medical history. Assist in surgical excision, biopsies, etc.
- Manage medical administrative support tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records and handling correspondence.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with patients and staff.
- Maintain electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently.
- Provide exceptional patient service and support throughout their visit.
- Support geriatric care by understanding the unique needs of older patients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical environment, adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to provide effective patient care.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dermatology.
- Proficiency in EHR systems for managing patient information effectively.
- Previous experience in dermatology is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while demonstrating compassion for patients.
- Ability to commute to both our Auburn and Rocklin offices.
Basic Job Details
- 30 hours per week at a minimum (Tuesday-Friday)
- 8am - 5 pm daily
- Willing to hire Pre-PA, Pre-NP, and Pre-Nursing students!
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
