Position Description
Job Code/Title: Laboratory Sales Representative
General hours of work: Monday – Friday
Exempt/nonexempt: Exempt (Not OT eligible)
Reports To: Sales Manager
SUMMARY: The Laboratory Sales Representative is responsible for selling and promoting available diagnostic services to the medical community in a designated territory. This includes Hospitals, Physician Offices, Skilled Nursing Facilities, etc.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Must have 2 years of experience in healthcare, laboratory and/or diagnostic sales selling to medical professionals.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- A track record for developing high-trust relationships with customers.
- Highly motivated, great people skills, positive attitude, entrepreneurial spirit, driven to be the best.
- Ability to communicate persuasively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to operate independently in a self-directed manner.
- Ability to travel when required.
- Requires proficient computer skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clear driving record.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Marketing laboratory testing services to both new and existing customers;
- Sell clinical laboratory testing through promotion of services to authorized health care professional in a consistent and compliant manner;
- Develop and pursue sales leads, visit existing and new customers, assesses customer needs and suggests appropriate products and services;
- Conduct sales calls to high potential case managers, doctors, and other sales targets in assigned accounts;
- Identify potential business sites which have a need for COVID testing;
- Train and interact with health care professionals and staff about lab tests, billing policies, and procedures;
- Always maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliant rules;
- Act as a self-starter to foster territory growth and drive sales through up-selling of existing accounts;
- Maintain and pursue knowledge in associated specialist testing area and incorporate knowledge of service offerings;
- Perform responsive, ongoing, in-person and telephone customer service required to maintain Lab’s Clients;
- Participate in and comply fully with the Lab’s Compliance Program;
- Analyze sales statistics to identify areas of improvement;
- Develop strategies with clients aimed at accelerating overall business processes;
- Create and maintain plans to qualify new and existing referrals to grow the business;
- Maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction by resolving and following up on customer concerns;
- Partner with management and staff, as well as other functional areas within the company to drive sales growth.

- Maintain confidentiality.
- Work effectively in a team environment, coordinating work flow with other team members and ensuring a productive and efficient environment.
- Comply with safety principles, laws, regulations and standards associated with, but not limited to CMS, CLIA, CAP, and OSHA.
