Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care to pets in our boarding facility, including feeding, administering medication, and monitoring health status
- Handle animals with confidence using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for pets and staff
- Engage in dog training activities to promote good behavior during their stay
- Perform pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming to keep animals comfortable and well-maintained
- Assist with pet sitting duties, ensuring each animal receives personalized attention and companionship
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, bedding, and common areas to uphold hygiene standards
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ wellbeing and any special needs or concerns
- Support veterinary technicians or assistants when needed by providing basic animal care or handling duties
- Lift heavy items such as bags of pet food or supplies safely and efficiently as part of daily operations
Experience
- Prior experience working with animals in a kennel, veterinary clinic, or pet grooming environment is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal handling skills is advantageous
- Experience with veterinary procedures or as a veterinary technician/assistant provides valuable insight into animal health needs
- Background in pet grooming or pet sitting demonstrates a strong commitment to animal care excellence
- Excellent customer service skills are essential for communicating effectively with pet owners and team members
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods is required to meet daily operational demands
