Title: Social Media Content Creator
Reports to: Sr Manager, Community & Content
Primary Location: New York Metropolitan Area (hybrid)
Position Summary
We’re looking for a social-obsessed, trend-driven, idea-generating content creator to own and elevate HALO’s presence across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Pinterest, and paid social channels.
In this role, you will be an in-house creator, editor, designer, and storyteller — a key driver of our organic social and paid social strategy who brings concepts to life through fast-turn, high-quality, platform-native content. You will work closely with the social media team and broader creative and e-commerce teams, contributing to both execution and ideation with equal excitement.
You’ll integrate into brand conversations, understand broader marketing and revenue goals, and help translate those insights into content that performs — whether that’s an emotional storytelling TikTok, a thumb-stopping educational carousel, a high-impact paid ad, or an evergreen brand video.
You’ll thrive here if you live and breathe social, have a POV on trends, love using data to iterate, and can bring ideas to life quickly without sacrificing craft.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Video Editing & Content Creation
- Produce short-form, platform-native videos (TikTok, Reels, Shorts, Meta ads) with strong hooks, pacing, and storytelling.
- Edit paid ads with multiple A/B variants tailored to platform specs and performance data.
- Transform long-form or livestream footage into 5–10 snackable clips with ease.
- Add motion graphics, text overlays, captions, transitions, and visual effects that enhance clarity and engagement.
- Bring fresh ideas weekly based on trends, consumer behavior, and cultural moments.
Social Graphic Design
- Create thumb-stopping static and motion assets—carousels, IG story sets, reels, covers, UGC-style graphics, ad templates.
- Design high-performing paid social creative across Meta, TikTok, and Pinterest.
- Build reusable templates and frameworks for repeatable efficiency.
- Explore new creative formats that push the boundary of social-first brand expression.
Creative Ideation & Strategy
- Participate in brand, campaign, and channel discussions to understand goals and translate them into strategic social video/graphic content.
- Pitch ideas rooted in trends, data, and platform insights.
- Interpret performance metrics to identify what’s working, what’s not, and where to pivot.
- Collaborate with content & creative teams to ensure content aligns with launches, product priorities, and brand storytelling.
- Bring proactive, strategic thinking — not just execution — to the table.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Use trend analysis to inform content ideation and campaign development, collaborating with the team as strategies and calendars are developed and finalized.
- Support brand-level content (e.g., homepage videos, campaign visuals, evergreen storytelling) as part of broader marketing initiatives.
What We’re Looking For:
- 3 years of experience creating mobile-first social content for consumer brands.
- A portfolio showcasing short-form video, social graphics, and content you conceptualized, shot, and edited yourself.
- Strong editing ability in tools such as CapCut, InShot, Instagram Edits, TikTok Studio, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, or similar.
- Strong visual design skills in Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva.
- Deep knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Pinterest, and emerging social platforms.
- A record of content that drove engagement, conversation, or measurable performance.
- Naturally curious about social behavior: you’re always asking: Why did this go viral? How could we do this better?
- Ability to balance self‑sufficiency in spotting and bringing trends/ideas for creative as well as being comfortable executing with briefs
- Nimble at navigating a fast-paced environment and can bring an idea to life with independent thinking alongside quick direction and examples
- Organized and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work independently when needed
- Resourceful, and can thrive in a scrappy content lab
Bonus Points:
- Experience creating for parent, kid, or family-focused brands.
- Ability to ideate, concept, and write short, clever, scroll-stopping captions, copy or hooks.
- Comfortable on camera—or skilled at directing others with confidence.
- Motion design skills or light animation capabilities.
- Experience with UGC-style storytelling.
- Familiarity with paid social best practices.
