POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Accounting Associate is responsible for providing accurate, timely, and organized support to the Accounting Department, including processing vendor invoices, maintaining customer billing records, and assisting with daily accounting operations. This is an entry-level role in a fast-paced distribution company that values responsiveness, accuracy, and exceptional customer service.
In this full-time position, you will play a key role in maintaining financial documentation and supporting both internal colleagues and external partners. You will foster positive working relationships and contribute to the success of our growing business.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Main Activities
- Input vendor invoices into Sage, including verification of accuracy and calculation of applicable discounts.
- Prepare vendor invoices for payment processing.
- File paid vendor invoices in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Pull paid customer invoices to match checks, EFTs, or credit card remittances.
- File open customer invoices daily and organize paid customer invoices several times per week.
- Send customer statements promptly and accurately.
- Serve as back-up support for customer invoicing.
- Answer inbound telephone calls and direct them appropriately.
- Maintain orderly, accurate, and up-to-date accounting files and records.
- Assist with general office and accounting tasks as assigned.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional accounting coursework a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel. Outlook, etc.)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles preferred.
- Experience with Sage or other accounting software is helpful but not required.
