Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote comfort and independence
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior, reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals
- Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and confidentiality
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Support residents with varying levels of need, creating a safe and calming environment
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces by performing cleaning duties and ensuring a hygienic environment
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to safely assist with heavy lifting or transfers
Requirements
- Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing home care, or group homes; experience with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is highly valued
- Familiarity with care plans, medication administration, vital signs measurement, and HIPAA compliance
- Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing varying cognitive needs, providing compassionate support tailored to their needs
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with resident transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and reporting changes promptly
- Excellent communication skills combined with a caring attitude to foster trust and comfort among residents
