We are seeking a highly skilled Senior z/OS System Administrator with strong expertise in IBM mainframe environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in z/Architecture, Sysplex setup, disaster recovery, and system performance optimization, along with deep knowledge of system tools and utilities.
🔑 Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain z/OS system environments, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Design, implement, and support GDPS / Sysplex environments
- Perform SMP/E installations, upgrades, and maintenance activities
- Execute and automate POR (Process of Recovery) procedures
- Handle system monitoring, performance tuning, and optimization (MIPS reduction)
- Support disaster recovery setup and conduct DR drills
- Lead mainframe migration, version upgrades, and hardware refresh activities
- Work with infrastructure teams for capacity planning and system scalability
- Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and best practices
- Identify opportunities for software rationalization and cost optimization
- Provide L3 level support for critical production issues and outages
🧩 Required Skills:
🔹 Core Mainframe Technologies:
- Strong experience with z/Architecture, z/OS
- Expertise in Sysplex / GDPS setup and maintenance
- Hands-on experience with SMP/E
🔹 System Utilities & Tools:
- JES2, TSO/ISPF
- DFSMS, VTAM
- HMC, HCD
- UserMods
🔹 Infrastructure & Operations:
- Strong understanding of mainframe hardware and peripherals
- Experience with IBM & ISV tools/utilities
- Automation of system processes

- Implement MIPS optimization strategies
