Duties
- Operate and monitor concrete batching equipment, including mixers, conveyors, and silos, to ensure accurate mix proportions and timely production.
- Manage raw material inventory, including aggregates, cement, and additives, coordinating with warehouse staff for timely restocking.
- Conduct routine inspections of plant machinery and heavy equipment such as forklifts and cranes to maintain optimal functionality and safety.
- Perform basic welding, fabrication, and mechanical repairs on plant components to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
- Maintain detailed records of batch production, equipment maintenance, and safety inspections for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Assist with concrete forming and finishing processes on construction sites as needed to support project deadlines.
- Follow all safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation, welding, machining, and plant operations to create a secure work environment.
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy machinery such as forklifts, concrete mixers, or other manufacturing equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic welding, fabrication, and machining tasks.
- Background in construction or manufacturing environments involving concrete forming or finishing is highly desirable.
- Warehouse experience including inventory management and material handling is a plus.
- Familiarity with concrete batching processes, quality control standards, and safety regulations related to plant operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly and effectively.
- Prior experience working with heavy equipment operation or in a construction setting will help ensure success in this role.
