All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in the job order and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in Section A.3 & A.4. Workers will perform a variety of agricultural fieldwork related to cultivation, maintenance, and harvesting of vegetables, herbs, and berries. Duties include planting, transplanting, weeding, thinning, and hoeing crops such as cabbage, carrots, fresh beans, peas, onions, sweet potatoes, pumpkins, summer squash, and tomatoes. The work will take place in both field and greenhouse settings. In greenhouses, workers will plant and transplant seedlings. In the field, workers will plant, maintain, and harvest crops. Post-harvest duties will include washing, sorting, culling, and packing produce for storage, distribution, and sale. Workers may also transport and/or deliver crops from the field to the farm and/or retail stands. Additional responsibilities include loading and unloading trucks and other farm vehicles; setting up, operating, and maintaining irrigation systems; and cutting brush and vegetation around fields, buildings, and equipment. Workers may be asked to operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmer's fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as-needed basis. Workers that are requested to drive will be required to possess a valid driver’s license; no worker will be rejected for not having a driver's license. Workers who do drive will still perform the same field work and other duties as non-driving workers; driving is not a primary duty. Workers may use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, hand saws, and knives. All work must be performed carefully and according to provided instructions to prevent damage and ensure product quality. The assigned duties are physically demanding and require prolonged walking, bending, stooping, and kneeling. Workers must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Workers are expected to report to work wearing suitable clothing and must be willing and able to perform duties in a variety of extreme weather conditions, ranging from damp, cold spring and fall days to hot, humid summer days. Workers may offer to work 4-hour shifts within the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm on Sunday, plus 8-hour shifts within the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, plus 4-hours shifts within the hours of 7:00am – 7:00pm. This schedule totals 40 hours per week. The 7:00am to 7:00pm work window is intended to accommodate varying farm conditions, such as weather and crop readiness, and to ensure that workers are able to complete the required weekly hours. Workers will not work a full 12-hour shift. Workers may be offered additional hours beyond the standard schedule, subject to the mutual agreement of the employee and management. Workers will be provided with a 60-minute lunch break, staggered between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., as determined by both the workers and management. Workers may choose where to eat their lunch and must return to work after the 60-minute break. In addition, workers will receive a 15-minute break in the morning as agreed upon by the worker and management. The daily and weekly work schedules may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, or other factors. The employer will notify workers of any changes to the schedule. The employer will provide one day of training and two days of work to demonstrate satisfactory performance of the duties described in this job description. The employer will provide, at no cost to the workers, all tools and equipment
