Property / Grounds Assistant for a Private Family Estate (Full-Time)
Position Overview
A private family is seeking a dependable, skilled, and hands-on Property / Grounds Assistant to support the daily care, maintenance, and presentation of multiple residential properties, as well as the company office. This full-time role is well-suited for a professional with experience managing large, high-quality grounds who takes pride in maintaining properties to exceptional standards.
This position reports directly to the Property Director and plays an important role in supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the properties.
Key Responsibilities
Grounds & Landscape Management
- Maintain extensive grounds, landscaping, and hardscape areas across the properties
- Operate a wide range of mowing, landscaping, and ground equipment
- Manage irrigation systems and well operations
- Address wildlife and pest issues (e.g., armadillos and other nuisance animals)
Property Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform general handyman tasks and minor repairs throughout homes and grounds
- Pressure wash exterior surfaces
- Perform basic equipment maintenance (to include checking oil levels, tire air pressures and maintaining cleanliness)
Utilities & Resource Management
- Oversee gasoline supply for equipment
- Maintain and safely apply chemicals in compliance with licensing requirements
Events & Family Support
- Ensure properties are well-presented and fully functional before and after family gatherings and events
Leadership & Coordination
- Supervise external vendors and contractors
- Supervise and support on-site employees
- Work collaboratively with the Property Supervisor to ensure smooth daily operations
Qualifications & Experience
- Significant large-property management experience (e.g., golf course, sports complex, large apartment complex or estate environment)
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Valid chemical licenses:
- BMP (Roundup) – Required
- BMP (Fertilizer) – Required
- RUP (Pesticide – Ornamental & Turf) – Required
- Experience with irrigation systems (to include installation, troubleshooting, head replacement and pipe repair), and wells
- Experience operating a wide range of grounds and maintenance machinery
- Arborist experience is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Physical & Other Requirements
- Ability to safely lift up to 80 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Willingness to adapt schedule as needed to support projects and events
- Must successfully complete reference checks, background screening, and drug testing upon hire consideration
- Smoking of tobacco products is not permitted anywhere on the owner’s properties or in company vehicles. This policy applies at all times during employment.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
