Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive problem-solving Shipping & Inventory Clerk to join our manufacturing team. Our growing operation can now support a full-time position for shipping, inventory, and receiving duties.
Duties
- Neatly and securely pack and ship completed small products for parcel shipping.
- Maintain inventory of shipping supplies: boxes, tapes, packing material, etc.
- Prepare and book LTL freight shipments for items such as fuel tanks and other large projects. This will involve building wood pallets for LTL shipments using wood saw, tape measure, and nail gun or driver.
- Some assembly of nearly finished products (e.g., adding extra accessories, fastening hardware, etc).
- Proactively pick components from inventory into bins for projects, account for them in the inventory software, and address shortages by purchasing.
- Help us optimize shipping station efficiency and inventory storage. This is where the problem-solving skill is involved. Let's make it streamlined and efficient.
- Keep interior office space and shipping workspace neat and tidy.
Experience & Skills
- Prior experience working in a warehouse environment with a focus on shipping & receiving or inventory management is preferred. Other relevant experience in the service industry, retail, or manufacturing would be helpful as well.
- Experience or ability to learn operating forklifts, basic hand and power tools, and other shop equipment.
- Familiarity with the marine, boating, and fishing industry and terminology is helpful.
- Basic math skills for counting stock accurately, measuring shipment weights or dimensions.
- Strong data entry skills and computer skills with adaptability to different software.
- Excellent customer service skills to support internal teams or external partners during order fulfillment or shipment inquiries.
