This position is a Sub Separate Special Education Teacher (lower elementary students K-2) which is located at Halifax Elementary School.
This position is a substantially separate classroom working with students who are developmentally delayed, have neurological disabilities, and Autism and reports the building principal.
The candidate should have:
- knowledge and/or experience in providing an ABA approach, using communication devices, using data to inform instruction and develop/implement IEP plans.
- a moderate or severe disability license.
- the ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
- They will be responsible for evaluating students, writing IEPs and Progress Reports and attending IEP Meetings.
This candidate will:
- work with students on academic, social and behavioral skills as well as toilet training
- collaborate with other staff members.
This is a fulltime benefits eligible position through the Town of Halifax and salary is commensurate with experience, education and alignment to the Halifax Teachers Association contract.
Salary : $59,619 - $105,275
