We are seeking a motivated and outgoing Catering Sales & Events Manager to grow our restaurant’s catering, corporate-order, and private-event business.
This is a sales-focused position for someone who enjoys building relationships, finding new customers, closing orders, and coordinating successful catering experiences. The ideal candidate will actively generate new business rather than relying only on incoming inquiries.
The position includes a guaranteed base salary plus commission on qualifying catering sales.
Responsibilities
- Generate new catering business through calls, emails, networking, in-person visits, and local outreach
- Build relationships with offices, hotels, hospitals, schools, residential buildings, event planners, sports organizations, and local businesses
- Respond promptly and professionally to catering and event inquiries
- Prepare catering quotes, menus, packages, and proposals
- Follow up with prospective customers and convert leads into confirmed orders
- Coordinate catering orders from the initial inquiry through pickup, delivery, setup, and completion
- Communicate order details clearly with kitchen staff, drivers, and restaurant management
- Manage customer expectations, special requests, dietary needs, payment details, and order deadlines
- Increase order value by recommending beverages, desserts, sides, packages, and additional services
- Maintain an organized list of leads, upcoming orders, past customers, and follow-up opportunities
- Contact previous customers to generate repeat and recurring catering business
- Develop partnerships with nearby businesses, venues, hotels, residential properties, and organizations
- Represent the restaurant professionally at networking and community events
- Assist with private events and large catering orders when needed
- Track catering sales and provide regular updates on leads, confirmed orders, and revenue
Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in catering sales, event sales, hospitality, restaurant management, business development, or a related position preferred
- Strong sales, communication, organization, and customer-service skills
- Comfortable making outbound calls, sending sales emails, and visiting local businesses
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Able to manage multiple customers, leads, and orders at the same time
- Professional, dependable, responsive, and detail-oriented
- Able to work effectively with restaurant management and kitchen staff
- Familiarity with the Boston business, restaurant, and hospitality market is a plus
- Experience preparing catering proposals, invoices, menus, or event agreements is a plus
- Reliable transportation for local sales visits and events is preferred
- Availability for occasional evenings and weekends when larger events require support
Pay: $55,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
