What You Will Do
- Operate various electromagnetic locating equipment, to locate and mark underground utilities within prescribed accuracy limits.
- Read and interpret utility plans/prints to identify the type and size of underground utilities.
- Provide accurate documentation and/or sketches related to locates completed.
- Operate company vehicle in a safe manner and maintain professional appearance.
- Perform manhole entry using assigned equipment and safety devices.
- 1 years of locating/designating experience is preferred, however, will consider new grads.
- Must have a valid Texas Driver's License.
- Vac Truck experience is a plus.
- Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions, including heat and cold.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods of time.
- Possess a meticulous attention to detail and strong ability to promote accuracy. There is very minimal room for error in this position.
- Ability and willingness to follow instructions that may be written, delivered verbally, or conveyed from various methods of communication.
- Must be flexible, dependable, responsible and disciplined to be a positive representative for Halff and remain punctual on a consistent basis.
- Overtime and weekend work may be needed to meet project deadlines.
- Must be able to arrive to work earlier than usual start time, beginning at 6:30am, Monday through Friday.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Will need to be available to travel out of town.
- Ability to pass a drug and background screen.
- High school diploma or GED, at minimum is required.
- Cross-trained personnel make Halff a one-stop shop for client's SUE/utility coordination needs.
- 20 years of experience with more than 10 million lf of utilities located and more than 10,000 test holes performed.
- Our team has proven processes and QA/QC procedures that provide accuracy and economy in project-driven utility inventories.
