Halff is seeking a Senior Civil Designer to join our Public Works team in our Atlanta, GA location. The ideal candidate would bring at least 8 years of experience in engineering, drafting & design, with a focus on Municipal Infrastructure & Public Works projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings & plans, working closely with engineers & other design professionals to ensure precision & accuracy. What Will You Do
- Work as part of a design team under the direct supervision of a PE
- Oversight of CAD Operators, Technicians and Interns performing design and production work using CAD standards and procedures to create an effective team
- Create and modify detailed drawings and designs for engineering projects using CAD software
- Review and revise drawings to meet specifications and standards
- Collaborate closely with engineers to understand project requirements and translate them into technical drawings
- Prepare and maintain documentation, including material lists, quantity takeoffs, cut/fill reports, and project records
- Review and implement applicable design and/or industry standards, federal and state requirements, and safety regulations to ensure design compliance
- Train staff in Civil 3D software/Design
- Support multiple projects when needed and help ensure timely completion of assignments
- Actively participate in implementing and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives to improve project quality
- Review project design documents prepared by engineering specialists and ensure redlines are incorporated into document drafts
- Drafting Certificate, Associate's, or Bachelor’s Degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field is desired
- Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering, drafting and design, with a focus on municipal infrastructure/Public Works projects
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and Civil3D
- Strong Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and ability to work in a team environment
- Knowledge of Public Infrastructure standards and regulations
- Ability to work independently as a self-motivator and as part of a team
