What are the responsibilities and job description for the Practice Leader, Construction Services position at Halff?
Halff Associates is seeking a Practice Leader of Construction Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, growth, and leadership of the Construction Engineering and Inspection Teams This will include providing technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to engineers, project administrators, and inspectors ad well as providing project management and oversight as the CEI Senior Project Engineer for current and future projects.

What You Will Do
- Providing strong leadership and guidance in areas of technical expertise and providing oversight to the construction services practice in the region.
- Researching markets, developing/maintaining client relationships, and identifying business opportunities.
- Creating/executing strategic plans and guiding practice growth.
- Leading successful strategic pursuits and capture planning for specific opportunities.
- Working closely with operations staff in the region to identify, hire, develop and grow key staff and resources, and ensure successful project delivery.
- Working closely with Halff's Construction Services to ensure implementation of best practices and leveraging firm-wide resources.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- State of Florida Professional Engineer (PE) registration (or ability to obtain registration in Florida within six months)
- 10 years of engineering experience (2 years of which are in construction of major road and bridge structures) or for non-degreed personnel, the registration and ten years of engineering experience (2 years of which are in major road or bridge construction).
- Thorough knowledge of inspection methods and techniques, construction materials, methods, and equipment, trade processes and safety procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret contract drawings, specifications and CPM schedules for projects.
- Ability to assist in evaluation of contractor claims.
- Ability to apply requirements of contract documents to construction issues problems.
- A good knowledge of laboratory testing methods and the ability to read and interpret reported test results.
- Knowledge and understanding of Florida Testing Methods
- Knowledge and practical understanding of the FDOT Construction Project Administration Manual.
- FDOT Advanced Maintenance of Traffic
- Completion of FDOT Critical Structures Construction Issues Self Study course
- Valid Florida Driver’s License.
