Halff has an immediate opening for a Graduate Civil Engineer in our Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) & Utility Coordination (UC) group in our Houston, TX office.

What You Will Do
- Support SUE/UC projects through design, analysis, documentation, and coordination.
- Assist with subsurface utility investigation, mapping, utility conflict analysis, and relocation efforts.
- Prepare SUE plans, drawings, exhibits, calculations, and technical reports using CAD and other design software.
- Review survey data, maps, aerial imagery, drawings, and other project information to support engineering design and decision-making.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, surveyors, utility owners, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Assist with developing design specifications and construction cost estimates.
- Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Perform field observations and review construction activities for general conformance with plans and specifications.
- Support multiple projects while maintaining quality, accuracy, schedules, and project requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Passed FE exam or will within 6 months
- Have a current Texas EIT license or the ability to obtain within 2 years of employment
- Knowledge of MicroStation V8i and AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Cross-trained personnel make Halff a one-stop shop for client’s SUE/utility coordination needs.
- 20 years of experience with more than 10 million lf of utilities located and more than 10,000 test holes performed.
- Our team has proven processes and QA/QC procedures that provide accuracy and economy in project-driven utility inventories.
