About the Role
A leading global law firm is seeking a Workday HR Solutions Manager to serve as the technical owner and strategic steward of its Workday platform.
This role sits at the intersection of HR, IT, and business leadership. You will oversee configuration governance, system optimization, release management, and integrations across Core HCM and Performance Management, ensuring the platform supports a sophisticated, highly regulated professional services environment.
This is not a ticket-driven HRIS support role. It is a platform ownership position focused on long-term architecture, scalability, and operational excellence.
This role is based in Chicago and follows a hybrid work model.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the primary owner of Workday Core HCM and Performance Management
- Oversee business process configuration, security, and system governance
- Manage biannual Workday releases, including impact analysis, testing strategy, and deployment coordination
- Partner with HR leadership to translate business objectives into scalable system solutions
- Oversee integrations (EIB, Core Connect, APIs, third-party systems)
- Ensure data integrity, compliance, and audit readiness
- Lead cross-functional collaboration across HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT
- Drive continuous system optimization and process improvements
- Provide architectural oversight for enhancements and new module expansion
- Support performance management workflows and related system configurations
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of hands-on Workday HCM experience
- Deep configuration experience across Core HCM and Performance
- Experience managing Workday releases end-to-end
- Strong knowledge of business process framework, security domains, and integrations
- Experience operating in a regulated or compliance-heavy environment (law firm, financial services, professional services preferred)
- Ability to operate as both a technical expert and strategic partner to HR leadership
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to Compensation, Recruiting, Benefits, or Payroll modules
- Experience supporting global or multi-office environments
- Background in professional services, legal, financial services, or similarly complex organizations
- Experience overseeing or mentoring HRIS analysts or administrators
- Familiarity with data governance and audit controls (SOC, regulatory, or similar frameworks)

Compensation
- Base salary range: $130,000 – $155,000, depending on experience
