Assignment Dates: August 24, 2026 – June 4, 2027
Pay & Schedule
- Hourly Pay: $47.00- $55.00/hour Based on experience
- 37.5 Hours Per Week
- Monday–Friday
- Elementary locations have half-days on Fridays; contractors will work a full day on Fridays.
Position Overview
Kenosha Unified School District is seeking dedicated and passionate Special Education Teachers to support students with diverse learning needs across the district. Classroom assignments, caseloads, and specific school locations will be determined based on district needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide specialized instruction and accommodations to students with disabilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and parent conferences
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
Required Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin Special Education Teacher Licensure
- Licensure must be verified through the Wisconsin DPI website
- Certification in one of the following areas:
- Early Childhood–Middle Childhood
- Middle Childhood–Early Adolescence
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEPs, and classroom management
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
