- Break: 30-minute break
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of acute-care experience in the specialty within the last 5 years
- EMR: EPIC experience required
We are seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide safe, high-quality care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures.
The RN will monitor patients throughout the post-anesthesia recovery period, assess their condition, manage post-operative needs, and collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure safe recovery and appropriate discharge or transfer.
Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit.
Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures.
Perform ongoing assessments of vital signs, airway, respiratory status, pain, and level of consciousness.
Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
Manage post-operative pain, nausea, and other recovery-related symptoms.
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
Communicate effectively with physicians, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare professionals.
Provide patient and family education regarding post-operative care.
Follow facility policies, safety standards, and infection-control procedures.
Requirements
Current and valid RN license appropriate for the assignment.
Minimum 1 year of acute-care RN experience in PACU or the applicable specialty within the last 5 years.
EPIC experience required.
Strong post-anesthesia and post-operative patient care experience.
Ability to recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
Strong communication and critical-thinking skills.
