Job Overview
Halco Home Solutions is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Technician to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in improving the health and safety of residential environments.
In this position, you will conduct in-home diagnostic assessments, collect environmental data, and support remediation efforts while also engaging in community outreach. This role blends technical fieldwork with public health education, making a direct impact on families and communities.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection & Diagnostic Testing
- Conduct in-home assessments to measure indoor environmental conditions including humidity, VOCs, particulate matter, and CO2
- Deploy monitoring equipment and collect data to identify air quality issues
- Document findings accurately to support analysis and reporting
Remediation Support
- Identify sources of indoor pollutants, allergens, and moisture intrusion
- Assist in developing tailored remediation plans
- Provide detailed reports for both internal teams and homeowners
Outreach & Eligibility
- Engage with communities to identify and recruit households for IAQ programs
- Build partnerships and participate in outreach initiatives
- Evaluate client eligibility using screening and navigation tools
Education & Advocacy
- Educate homeowners on the connection between indoor air quality and health (e.g., asthma triggers)
- Translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations
- Promote healthy home practices within the community
Qualifications & Skills
- Technical Aptitude: Interest in indoor air quality, environmental health, or community outreach (training provided)
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to engage, educate, and build trust with diverse audiences
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a developing role within a growing program
- Problem-Solving: Ability to assess situations and contribute to practical solutions
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel frequently for in-home visits and community events
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
