Information Systems - Business Systems Analyst

Job Summary: We are transforming our industry and are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Business Systems Analyst to join our team. As a Business Systems Analyst, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business processes, gather requirements, and propose efficient and effective solutions. Your expertise in both business and technology will be essential in driving process improvements, optimizing workflows, and ensuring the successful implementation of IT solutions. Organization: Reports directly to the Director of Data Management This is a hybrid role and the candidate must work in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania office three times a week. Responsibilities: 1. Requirements Gathering and Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements. Conduct thorough analysis of existing systems, processes, and workflows to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions. 2. System Design and Documentation: Translate business requirements into detailed system specifications and functional designs. Create comprehensive documentation, including user stories, use cases, process flow diagrams, and data models, to facilitate system development and implementation. 3. Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between business users, IT teams, and external vendors. Communicate technical concepts and project updates effectively to stakeholders of varying technical backgrounds. Manage expectations and ensure alignment between business needs and proposed solutions. 4. System Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and execute test plans and test cases to validate system functionality and ensure adherence to business requirements. Collaborate with QA teams to identify and resolve issues as well as perform user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure system readiness. 5. Change Management and Training: Assist in change management activities by providing user training and documentation. Collaborate with business users to define and implement change management strategies, including user adoption plans and support mechanisms. 6. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and efficiency gains. Collaborate with business users to define and implement streamlined workflows and best practices. Continuously monitor system performance and propose enhancements as needed. 7. Project Management: Assist in project planning, including defining project scope, timelines, and deliverables. Track project progress, identify risks and issues, and propose mitigation strategies. Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and successful implementation of system changes. Requirements: 1. Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Additional certifications in business analysis or project management are advantageous. 2. Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or in a similar role. Proven track record in analyzing business processes, gathering requirements, and delivering IT solutions. Experience with project management methodologies and tools is preferred. 3. Business Acumen: Ability to understand and align with business goals and strategies. Familiarity with industry-specific regulations, compliance requirements, and emerging trends is advantageous. 4. Business Skills: Familiarity with business analysis techniques, such as data collection, KPI definition, process mapping, requirements gathering, tracking deliverables, and issue tracking & resolution. Translating business questions into data-driven analyses and actionable recommendations is beneficial. 5. Technical Skills: Solid understanding of business operations, processes, and best practices. Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis. R and Python experience are advantageous. 6. Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong problem-solving abilities to address system issues, identify data issues, and troubleshoot technical challenges. 7. Systems and Technology Knowledge: Solid understanding of enterprise systems, software development lifecycles, and project methodologies. Knowledge of relational databases, APIs, and integration concepts is desirable. Familiarity with agile methodologies and software development practices is a plus. 8. Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with business and technical stakeholders. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to build relationships, facilitate workshops, and lead discussions. 9.
