Duties
- Safely bathe, dry, and groom dogs of various breeds and sizes, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Assist with dog handling during grooming procedures to ensure comfort and safety for the animals
- Use animal restraint techniques effectively to facilitate grooming while minimizing stress for pets
- Perform basic dog training exercises to encourage good behavior during grooming sessions
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, including sanitizing tools and equipment regularly
- Monitor pets’ health during grooming, noting any signs of skin issues or discomfort that may require veterinary attention
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about grooming needs and special instructions
Skills
- Experience with pet grooming, dog handling, and animal restraint techniques
- Knowledge of veterinary procedures or veterinary technician experience is a plus
- Background in animal care or veterinary assistant roles enhances your ability to assess pet health
