We have an exciting opportunity for local wig makers to join our team in Orlando, Florida. We are currently seeking contract, part-time, and full-time wig builders for various projects, including hair shows, school, and in-house wig building and repairs. Starting at $58,240/yr - $68,640/yr for full-time for theatrical wig builders.

The Wig Master Instructor will be responsible for providing instruction and training to students interested in pursuing a career in the field of wig making. The Instructor will be expected to teach students the techniques and skills necessary to create high-quality wigs and hairpieces for theater, film, television, and other related industries. Additionally, the Wig Master Instructor will provide guidance and mentorship to students, helping them to develop their artistic and creative abilities.
Responsibilities
- Make custom wig orders and repairs, including molding, fittings, and styling
- Design and develop a comprehensive curriculum for wig making and styling courses
- Provide hands-on instruction and demonstrations of wig making techniques
- Supervise and provide feedback to students as they complete assignments and projects
- Evaluate student progress and provide guidance for improvement
- Provide mentorship and career guidance to students as they prepare to enter the workforce
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and techniques in wig making and styling, and incorporate them into the curriculum as appropriate
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to ensure the overall success of the program
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment, and ensure that all equipment is in good working order
- Participate in professional development opportunities and continue to refine and improve instructional methods
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in wig making and styling
- Expert knowledge of various wig-making techniques and materials
- Excellent communication and teaching skills
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students and staff
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- A passion for teaching and mentoring
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing needs and circumstances
Education:
- Associate's Degree in Wig Making and Styling:
- Certification or degree in wig making or a related field preferred.
