Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Perform physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations to determine patient needs.
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and other treatments as required.
- Provide education and counseling to patients regarding health management and disease prevention.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare staff in managing acute and chronic conditions.
- Document patient interactions accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives to enhance patient care practices.
- Manage acute pain, perform suturing, and conduct procedures such as catheterization and spinal taps when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Skills
The ideal candidate should have experience or knowledge in the following areas:
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner, eClinicalWorks.
- Clinical experience in critical care, gastroenterology, pediatrics, geriatrics, or emergency medicine.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding.
- Experience in pain management, behavioral health, hospice & palliative medicine.
- Skills in performing procedures including IV insertion, venipuncture, specimen collection/processing.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques.
- Experience working with diverse populations including children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to perform diagnostic imaging procedures and manage ventilators when needed.
- Strong communication skills for effective patient education and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
