Job Summary
Join the Hahn’s Tree Service & Landscaping team as a Tree Service Groundsman and become an important part of our professional tree care and outdoor services crew. This hands-on, year-round position supports our tree removal, pruning, landscaping, excavation, and property improvement operations while working alongside experienced crew members and equipment operators.
As a Groundsman, you will help maintain safe and efficient job sites by assisting with tree removals, operating hand tools and equipment, handling ropes and rigging, feeding brush into commercial woodchippers, loading trucks, and completing cleanup operations. This is a physically demanding outdoor position with opportunities to learn professional tree care techniques, equipment operation, and additional skills in landscaping, excavation, and heavy equipment.

Responsibilities
- Assist with tree removals, pruning, trimming, and storm cleanup operations
- Safely operate chainsaws, hand tools, blowers, and other professional equipment after proper training
- Feed brush and wood into commercial wood chippers and assist with processing tree debris
- Set up and maintain safe work zones around homes, roads, and job sites
- Assist with rigging, ropes, lowering operations, and tree removal procedures
- Load and unload equipment, tools, logs, brush, and materials
- Maintain clean and organized work areas before, during, and after projects
- Assist with landscaping, excavation, stump grinding, and property improvement projects as needed
- Operate small equipment and assist with larger equipment operations based on experience and training
- Follow all company safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Perform seasonal work including storm response, snow operations, and general property maintenance
Qualifications
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions year-round
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and manual labor
- Comfortable working around heights, power equipment, and heavy machinery
- Previous experience in tree service, landscaping, construction, excavation, or outdoor work is a plus but not required
- Mechanical ability and equipment experience are beneficial
- Valid driver’s license preferred; CDL advancement opportunities available for qualified employees
- Must be safety-minded and able to follow directions
