Job Title: Surgery Barn Dispatcher
Department: Davidson Surgery Center
Supervisor: Surgery Barn Manager & Operations Manager
Summary: Performs variety of administrative and dispatch duties to assist staff, veterinarians, and clients in a hospital setting.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provide primary phone support for Surgery barns for movement of patients to and from surgical facility.
- Dispatch barn staff (via radio) to locations of patient as requested from surgical facility.
- Perform morning census of Surgery barns confirming all current patients and their locations.
- Monitor department cameras for client/patient arrivals and departures.
- Notify barn staff of client arrivals (via radio) for loading and unloading.
- Enter client/patient information into computer database(s) promptly and accurately.
- Confirm accuracy of intended procedure to be performed on patients.
- Dispatch recovery tech's (via radio) pre and post-surgery to surgical facility as requested.
- Confirm all surgeons' patients have arrived for the day.
- Monitor recovery room cameras for efficiency and safety.
- Maintain clean and orderly Surgery barn office area.
- Assist with maintaining appropriate stock of departmental office supplies.
- Report any required repairs to appropriate personnel.
- Greet and assist clients and visitors.

- Monitors and assists with ensure efficient and safe operations of the Surgery barns.
- Holds confidential all records containing patient information.
- Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures. Ability to write/document technical information. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from doctors, other staff and clients.
Math Ability:
Ability to apply simple math formulas.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general computer software knowledge and keyboarding skills.
