Stamping Specialist

The Stamping Specialist is a highly skilled production employee who is trained and qualified to safely operate all three stamping presses and the overhead crane. This position performs press setup and operation, monitors production and quality, supports efficient changeovers, responds appropriately to equipment issues, and assists other Stamping Department employees as needed.

The Stamping Specialist is expected to demonstrate advanced knowledge of stamping operations while consistently meeting hago’s safety, quality, productivity, attendance, and housekeeping standards.

• Follow all work instructions, production procedures, control plans, inspection requirements, and company policies.
• Safely set up and operate all three stamping presses.
• Safely operate the overhead crane to move dies, coils, materials, equipment, and other approved loads.
• Perform required pre-use inspections of presses, cranes, lifting devices, and related equipment.
• Set up and prepare dies, tools, materials, containers, and other equipment required for production.
• Assist with die changes, coil changes, press adjustments, and production changeovers.
• Verify that the correct die, material, part number, container, and production documentation are being used before beginning production.
• Perform startup and in-process quality inspections as required.
• Monitor press operation, part quality, scrap, production output, and machine performance throughout the shift.
• Meet established hourly production targets while maximizing machine uptime and output.
• Immediately notify the Shift Leader of equipment malfunctions, unusual press conditions, safety concerns, or production interruptions.
• Never bypass, disable, or alter machine guards, light curtains, interlocks, or other safety devices.
• Use machine downtime productively by preparing the next die, material, containers, or production paperwork; cleaning the work area; providing break relief; or assisting other team members as directed.
• Ensure an adequate supply of materials, containers, labels, and production supplies. Contact the Shift Leader or Material Handler immediately when additional items are needed.
• Maintain required production, scrap, downtime, inspection, and other departmental records accurately and on time.
• Follow established procedures for identifying, containing, and reporting nonconforming material.
• Consistently meet all product and customer quality specifications.
• Stop production and contact the Shift Leader or Quality Department whenever there is uncertainty about part quality or process requirements.
• Assist with troubleshooting press, tooling, material-feed, and quality issues within the employee’s training and authorization.
• Support and provide guidance to other press operators when requested.
• Communicate production status, equipment concerns, quality issues, and other important information during shift changes.
• Be at the assigned workstation and ready to work at the scheduled start time.
• Work all scheduled hours, including overtime when required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Maintain all company-required training and authorization to operate the overhead crane.
• Inspect the crane, hooks, slings, chains, lifting devices, and controls before use.
• Confirm the weight, balance, stability, and proper attachment of each load before lifting.
• Use only approved and properly rated lifting devices.
• Follow established procedures and designated travel paths when moving suspended loads.
• Keep employees clear of suspended loads and never position or allow anyone beneath a suspended load.
• Immediately remove damaged lifting equipment from service and report the condition to the Shift Leader.
• Report crane malfunctions, damage, or unsafe conditions immediately and discontinue operation until authorized to resume.

• Follow all company safety rules, procedures, work instructions, and lockout/tagout requirements.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed safety shoes.
• Operate only the equipment for which the employee has been properly trained and authorized.
• Inspect the work area and equipment for hazards before beginning work.
• Immediately report injuries, near misses, equipment damage, unsafe conditions, and safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean and orderly workstation and use available downtime for cleaning and workplace organization.
• Keep aisles, exits, electrical panels, fire equipment, and emergency equipment unobstructed.
• Follow proper lifting, material-handling, and ergonomic practices.
• Participate in required safety meetings and training.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous stamping-press or manufacturing experience required.
• Demonstrated ability to safely set up and operate all three stamping presses.
• Completion of company-required overhead-crane training and authorization.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, inspection standards, production documents, and safety procedures.
• Ability to use required measuring and inspection equipment.
• Basic mechanical ability and demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to recognize equipment, tooling, material, and quality problems.
• Dependable attendance and the flexibility to work scheduled overtime when required.
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively with production, maintenance, tooling, quality, and material-handling personnel.
• Must consistently meet established safety, quality, productivity, conduct, and attendance expectations.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to lift and carry materials within established company limits, with assistance or lifting equipment when required.
• Ability to work around moving machinery, noise, metal materials, lubricants, and normal manufacturing conditions.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment throughout the work shift.

• Follow applicable quality, environmental, and safety-management-system requirements.
• Support compliance with applicable customer requirements and hago’s ISO and IATF standards.
• Prevent defects by following approved processes and promptly reporting deviations.
• Properly handle scrap, waste, oils, chemicals, and recyclable materials according to company procedures.

This position does not have direct supervisory authority. However, the Stamping Specialist may assist with training, break relief, troubleshooting, and operational support for other employees as directed by the Shift Supervisor or Stamping Supervisor.
