We are seeking a dedicated, energetic Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate is passionate about cooking, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can execute menu items with consistency, speed, and precision. You will be responsible for manning and operating a specific station (e.g. grill, fryers, ovens, deli, etc.) from setup through service, maintaining high standards of food presentation and cleanliness.
MUST BE AVAILABLE MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY
LINE COOKS WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE SCHEDULED TO WORK ANY AND ALL ARCC EVENTS SCHEDULED DURING THE SEASON FROM END OF SEPTEMBER THROUGH MAY. THESE SHIFTS INCLUDE WORKING EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS-(FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAYS)
Requirements
MUST BE A CURRENT HCC STUDENT FOR THE SUMMER AND/OR FALL 2026 SEMESTER.
MUST BE ENROLLED IN AT LEAST 6 CREDITS.
UNLESS FIRST-SEMESTER STUDENT, MUST HAVE ATTAINED A 2.0 SEMESTER GPA DURING THE LAST SEMESTER ATTENDED.

Requirements

- 1-5 years of professional kitchen experience, preferably as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook
- Must be available Monday thru Friday for 20 hour work week
- High school diploma or GED required; culinary arts degree or vocational training is a plus
- ServSafe Food Handler Certificate is preferred but will train and administer test onsite
- Flexible availability to work mostly days, some nights and weekends is required
- Commitment to recipe consistency, proper portioning, and plating presentation
- Excellent communication skills to interact with the team under pressure and a positive, collaborative attitude
- Ability to remain calm and professional during high-volume service hours
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift at least 40-50 lbs.
- Prepare menu items according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards, utilizing techniques like grilling, frying, baking and roasting.
- Handle multiple food orders simultaneously under pressure , ensuring food comes out on time and consistently high-quality
- Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace, following all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety
- Monitor ingredient freshness and supply levels, labeling all products, and informing the management of anticipated shortages
- Coordinate with other kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth service flow, and assist with prep work or other stations as needed
