Schedule: Monday–Friday | Seasonal with Full-Time Hours (Season begins early April)
Hagar Enterprises, Inc. is a paving and excavation contractor based in Damariscotta, Maine. Since 1987, we have specialized in all phases of site work, utility installation, and road construction throughout the region.
We are currently seeking a Hot Mix Asphalt Roller Operator to join our paving crew. This position offers full-time hours during the paving season, typically starting in early April.
Position Overview
The Hot Mix Asphalt Roller Operator is responsible for safely operating paving equipment to achieve proper compaction and finish of asphalt surfaces. The ideal candidate has prior paving experience, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work independently as part of a team. We are willing to train motivated individuals with the right attitude and work ethic.
Responsibilities
• Operate hot mix asphalt rollers and paving equipment safely and efficiently
• Assist with paver operations as needed (paver, screed, or wheel duties)
• Perform daily equipment inspections and preventative maintenance
• Conduct basic equipment maintenance and minor repairs
• Fuel equipment and maintain cleanliness of machines
• Assist with general labor tasks when not operating equipment, including:
– Compacting aggregate
– Installing pipe
– Supporting site work activities
• Operate power tools and hand tools, including cutting tools
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Requirements
• Minimum of one year of experience operating paving equipment preferred
• Valid Maine Class C driver’s license (Class A or B a plus)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening (excluding marijuana)
• Ability to lift more than 50 lbs., including overhead lifting
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently
• Proven commitment to jobsite safety
