This position is perfect for someone who enjoys the fast-paced energy of a veterinary front desk and wants the opportunity to grow into (or continue developing) clinical veterinary assistant skills. You'll be a vital part of creating the warm, caring experience our clinic is known for—whether you're greeting clients or assisting in the exam room.
Our well-established, trusted clinic proudly serves the Port Hadlock community and surrounding areas. With five experienced doctors and a newly renovated, state-of-the-art facility, this is an exciting time to join a supportive team that values learning, growth, and teamwork.
What You'll Do
Customer Service Responsibilities
- Be the warm, professional first impression for every client—whether in person, on the phone, or online
- Manage client check-ins and check-outs, prepare invoices, and process payments
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with scheduling
- Help keep the flow of the day on track, including communicating urgent needs to the medical team
- Educate clients about preventive care, wellness products, and available services
- Keep the front office tidy, organized, and welcoming
Veterinary Assistant Responsibilities
- Provide gentle, compassionate care to every patient
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams and treatments
- Safely restrain animals for exams, procedures, and sample collection
- Perform blood draws, run lab tests, and give vaccines as directed
- Maintain clean and well-stocked exam rooms and treatment areas
- Support client education on home care, medications, and follow-up instructions
- Help keep medical records updated and accurate
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer service experience required; veterinary or medical office experience is a big plus
- Previous animal handling or veterinary experience is helpful—but we're happy to train the right person
- A positive attitude, professional demeanor, and genuine love for animals and their people
- Comfort multitasking: answering phones, typing notes, and greeting clients all in stride
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and handle the sometimes messy (but rewarding) realities of veterinary care
- Team spirit—everyone works together, and we all jump in where needed
