Purpose Of This Position
Under the direction of SCM Manager, or designee, is responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies to support Operation’s established goals and production schedules; for assuring availability of inventory materials; for assuring that materials and components conform to drawing specifications; for developing effective and efficient sources of supply; for cultivating supplier relationships; and for following established policies, practices and procedures.

Under the direction of SCM Manager, or designee, is responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies to support Operation’s established goals and production schedules; for assuring availability of inventory materials; for assuring that materials and components conform to drawing specifications; for developing effective and efficient sources of supply; for cultivating supplier relationships; and for following established policies, practices and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent business experience.
- 5-7 years’ experience in “technical products” Materials/Purchasing environment.
- Proficient use and understanding of ERP operating systems that utilize MRP for ordering requirements.
- Strong Negotiation and Communication Skills required.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to multitask in fast paced industry.
- Strategic Sourcing/Planning
- Purchasing production components by commodity lines using MRP, history and planning sessions to meet operations schedule needs
- Maintaining assigned materials at required levels
- Globalization, LCC Sourcing and Supply
- Internal/External collaboration on new parts/designs
- Supplier evaluation and development, supplier quality (PPM)
- PPV and cost reduction activities
- Negotiation price, terms, LTA’s, conditions, contracts, productivity, cost control, etc…with suppliers
- CMS/MRP/ERP, minimums/maximum, Kanban, etc
- Inventory management and optimization
- Supply conflict resolution, supplier charge-backs
- Supplier Scorecard/ratings
- Supplier charge backs – Lead position
- Purchase order processing for Operations, Engineering, Quality as needed
- RFQ processing with new or existing suppliers. Work to identify cost savings/opportunities.
- Participate in physical inventories as needed, reconcile discrepancies as needed.
- Participate on cross-functional team needs/activities as required
- Research and identify new supply sources or “streams” that meet company needs (supplier selection and recommendations)
- Other duties and responsibilities as needed/assigned.
Salary : $82,000 - $90,000
