- Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200 employees and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit.
Responsibilities
- The Dialysis Technician will provide direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse to all assigned patients and maintain a safe patient area.
- Assisting in the maintenance of a safe and clean work environment
- Provide safe, effective delivery of patient care in compliance with standards outlined in the facility procedure manual, as well as regulations set forth by the corporation, state, and federal agencies
- Provided the direct patient care for ESRD assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse
- Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to the patient treatment.
- Information is documented by the technician in the appropriate patient record.
- Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters on Dialysis Flow Sheets
- Report any significant information or change in patient condition to the R.N.
- Assist with all emergency operational procedures
- Initiate basic CPR measures in the event of cardiac and/or pulmonary arrest and respond to emergency situations related to dialysis treatment.
- Able to safely operate all dialysis-related equipment safely
- Able to provide minor troubleshooting when necessary
- Familiarity with all emergency equipment.
- Recognize and respond to machine alarms.
- Participate in staff meetings as scheduled.
- Assist in patient care plan meetings when appropriate.
- Acquire information and knowledge in current practice related to dialysis techniques and principles by participating in scheduled in-service classes
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- High school degree or GED
- Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis
- Certification from an accredited dialysis program
- BLS/CPR certification
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Dialysis facility
Pay Range Minimum: $18.31/Hr.
Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
