About the Role:

Hacienda Mexican Foods is seeking a reliable, customer-focused Restaurant Route Driver to deliver our tortillas, tortilla chips, and other food products to restaurants and foodservice customers throughout an assigned route.

The Restaurant Route Driver is responsible for safely transporting and delivering products, maintaining strong customer relationships, managing an efficient daily route, accurately completing orders and invoices, and representing Hacienda Mexican Foods professionally at every customer location.

The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, personable, and comfortable working independently while managing multiple customer stops throughout the day.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Chauffeur license required 
• Previous delivery, route sales, foodservice, distribution, customer service, or similar experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to safely operate a company delivery vehicle.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull products throughout the workday (Up to 40lbs)
• Ability to work independently and manage a daily route with minimal supervision.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to accurately complete paperwork and use basic technology for route and delivery documentation.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Fluent in Spanish/English for local restaurants

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience delivering to restaurants, grocery stores, foodservice distributors, or other commercial food accounts.
• Previous route sales or food distribution experience.
• Knowledge of food products, foodservice operations, or restaurant environments.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are a plus.
• Experience using handheld delivery devices, route-management software, or similar technology.

Responsibilities:

• Safely deliver products accurately and on time.
• Follow assigned routes and manage delivery schedules efficiently.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with restaurant customers.
• Verify orders, complete invoices, and document deliveries accurately.
• Properly handle, rotate, and protect food products during delivery.
• Assist with product stocking and merchandising when needed.
• Identify opportunities to promote and increase sales of Hacienda products.
• Communicate customer requests, concerns, and product needs to management.
• Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle.
• Complete vehicle inspections and follow all company, food safety, and driving requirements.

The required skills such as safe driving, customer communication, and inventory management are essential for daily operations, ensuring that deliveries are completed accurately and on time while maintaining positive customer relationships. Strong interpersonal skills enable effective interaction with customers, addressing their needs and fostering loyalty. Physical stamina and the ability to handle merchandise safely are critical for loading and unloading products efficiently. Preferred skills like familiarity with GPS and route planning software enhance route optimization and time management. Additionally, knowledge of safety regulations ensures compliance and promotes a secure working environment for both the driver and the public.
