Job Summary:

The Yardman is responsible for assisting the Yard Foreman in maintaining yard inventory and filling customer orders from the yard.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.
  
  
  

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Help every customer in a courteous manner and load all orders properly to match the yard ticket.
• Keep inventory neatly in the proper spot and leveled.
• Sweep, clean, and organize all sheds.
• Pick up all trash around the yard.
• At times, man the yard gate. Check orders to make sure that the inventory leaving is the same as the yard ticket.
• yard is secure and safe (i.e. No broken fences, gate locked at closing).
• Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements such as yard hats, gloves, goggles, glasses.
• Follow uniform policies such as high visibility vests and shirts while working.
• Training
• Performs other duties as assigned.
  
  
  

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn yard processes and heavy machinery
• Capacity to take direction
• Excellent organizational skills
  
  
  

Education and Experience:

• Highschool Diploma or equivalent
• Previous yard experience preferred
  
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
