Position Overview:

Job Title: Substitute Teacher.
Position Type: Part-Time.
Schedule: Varied days and hours per week based on staffing needs. Substitute Teachers do not have a regular set schedule or guaranteed hours. Employees are contacted to work on an as-needed basis to provide classroom coverage when regular staff are absent and to maintain required staff-to-child ratios.
Pay Range: $18.79 hourly.
Position Goal:
The Substitute Teacher supports the classroom in the absence of assigned staff in maintaining a nurturing and supportive education program for participating children.

Qualifications & Conditions of Employment:
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
AND
- Three (3) months of experience working in a licensed early childhood or school-based pre-school setting/
Conditions of Employment
- Valid ID and reliable transportation for use on the job.
- Must receive clearance by the Iowa Department of Human Services on child abuse and criminal background checks prior to hire and every two (2) years after.
- Must pass a pre-employment health examination and subsequent health examinations every three (3) years thereafter.
