Core Project Areas

1. Content, Storytelling & Community Engagement

• Assist with or produce short-form video content (Reels, Stories, etc.) based on your experience level — video skills are a plus but not required.

• Help draft and design newsletters and campaign emails using Mailchimp.

• Support outreach communications for volunteers, donors, and community partners.

• Assist with groundbreaking, wall raising, and home dedication ceremonies

• Attend community engagement events on an occasional basis to represent Habitat and support volunteer recruitment

2. Fundraising, Marketing Materials & Strategy

• Help update and improve sponsorship decks, donor presentations, and event materials.

• Assist in creating collateral such as one-pagers, impact reports, and event promotions.

• Contribute ideas and research toward a practical, sustainable marketing plan.

• Help evaluate current marketing efforts, identify gaps or opportunities, and document processes for repeatability and scale.

3. Data, Performance Tracking & Optimization

• Help track basic performance data across social media, email campaigns, and website traffic.

• Assist in building simple reports or dashboards to monitor engagement and growth.

• Share observations and recommendations with the team, and document key metrics and reporting processes.

What You Will Gain:

• A portfolio of real, measurable work tied to mission impact.

• Experience connecting marketing to fundraising and community engagement outcomes.

• Hands-on experience with tools like Mailchimp, WordPress, Canva, and CharityProud.

• Mentorship from nonprofit professionals and exposure to development strategy and operations.

• Potential academic credit through your institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.

• Strong writing and storytelling skills — experience with digital tools is a plus.

• Interest in video production or content creation (Reels, short-form video) preferred but not required.

• Comfortable working with basic data or spreadsheets; curiosity about analytics a plus.

• Self-motivated, organized, and enthusiastic about community service and Habitat's mission.

• Reliable transportation; availability for occasional evenings and weekends for events.

How to Apply:

Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter describing your interest in Habitat for Humanity’s mission to info@williamsonhabitat.org, addressed to the Marketing & Development Coordinator, Emily Wallace. Examples of prior work, class projects, or a portfolio are welcome but not required.
